85 million Americans are impacted by food allergies and intolerances, including 32 million who have a potentially life-threatening condition.
Thank you Idaho for stepping up to acknowledge food allergy awareness week! 🦋 Together we can make a difference 🤍 #ReeseStrong #foodallergyawareness
Proclamations help inform elected officials about the serious nature of food allergies and show that our government offices care about state, city or county residents with food allergies. Receiving a proclamation can boost media attention and may even prompt elected officials to consider changes in policy or new legislation that improves the food allergy community.
In March of 2024, we joined over 250 advocates from over 40 states at Capitol Hill to lobby for legislation that will make a huge difference for the Food Allergy community. We spent the week raising awareness and working on policy change within Congress.
The Kyah Rayne Foundation _KRF
The Kyah Rayne Foundation (KRF) was founded in 2019 by Lisa Cohen in honor of her daughter, Kyah Rayne, who died of anaphylactic shock at the age of 21 after mistakenly ingesting a peanut. Since then, KRF has remained dedicated to advancing food allergy awareness and education, and advocating for increased access and availability to epinephrine auto-injectors (EAIs).
